Ronciglione
The village of Ronciglione is a small but wonderful village located on a spur of tufa rock with panoramic views of nearby Lake Vico. It has an ancient part of mediaeval origin made up of characteristic alleys, squares and breathtaking views and a Renaissance part. In the latter, the noble palaces of the 1500s that were commissioned by the Farnese family
stand out. Outside the amazing village, there is a diversion you absolutely must make. It only takes 3 km to find, in open countryside, the most important early Christian monument in the whole area: the church of San Eusebio. It was founded by Basilian monks who fled from Palestine in 700 A.D. Its graffiti, left by pilgrims on the Via Francigena passing through here, is still visible.
